Good Morning and welcome to our Spooky Sunday!  Today we have another short and simple project… and another wreath!  I just cannot get enough of these geo mesh wreaths!  I won’t do a full tutorial, there are plenty of them available on YouTube (my favorite resource!).  But I did snap a few photos of the products we used.  These can be picked up at any local crafting store: selected colors of geo mesh, matching color pipe cleaners, coordinating ribbon, tulle, felt spider, silver twine and a metal wreath form.

This is the assembled wreath, undecorated.  We used a pre-made Halloween décor item, disassembled it and re-purposed it for our wreath.  The felt spider was attached to the wreath form using the silver twine, tied to the form so that it would dangle through the middle of the wreath.

And TADA, here is the completed wreath!  Obviously, we think it turned out fabulous!

Good Morning and TGIS… “Thank Goodness It’s Sunday?”  No?  Well, how about “Relax, it’s Sunday.”  In my house, Sunday is more than just the end of the weekend, it’s a day for relaxing and family time.  For the blog, we decided that Sunday’s would be for posting our “simple” crafts.  Now, don’t let this fool you, simple is not always easy, lol.  These are crafts that we find simple in a relaxing way, crafts that we do for the simple enjoyment of crafting.

So what else are Sunday’s good for?  How about some football!  This week’s craft is completely football inspired, if you haven’t noticed.

Living in a house with two boys (and another boy-at-heart aka husband), we love sports of all kind, but especially football.  We all have our favorite teams, college and pro.  Sometimes the favorites will vary week to week (or game-to-game!) depending on who is winning, LOL.  As you can see, this wreath is Alabama themed, but I think it says “Roll Tide” in a subtle way, not so in-your-face.  This design is a simple wreath form decorated with geo-mesh and ribbon.  The decorate letter is MGF wood, painted to match and a bow for added flair.  All these materials were purchased from our local craft store (on sale, of course!).

Believe it or not, this was only my second time making a geo-mesh wreath.  I am thrilled with how well it turned out!  Fortunately, there is a very easy tutorial on YouTube by Ben Franklin Craft & Frame Shop (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO2oo22VNwQ).  I felt her method for making these and attaching them with nothing more than pipe cleaners was genius.  It also makes for a great learning method because if decide you are unhappy with the result, you can simply untie the pipe cleaner and move things around – or start over for that matter.  The key thing to remember with this project is to have fun with it!

So what is your favorite team?  Or better yet, your favorite holiday?  With the holiday season right around the corner, you could have enough wreaths to keep you busy for weeks!  I know I have a not-so-short list myself!  These wreaths can be seriously addicting once you learn how versatile the designs are — the possibilities are endless!

We’d love to hear your ideas or see your projects!  Feel free to leave a comment below to share your thoughts with other crafters.  Thanks for joining us again today for yet another fun project!  Great things coming ahead, so stay tuned for more excitement and inspiration to right around the corner!
